Specialization in “Orthopaedics and Traumatology” from the University of Bologna in Jul 15 1992, with 70/70 cum laude.
He works as 1st assistant orthopaedic surgeon in the Sports Traumatology Dept. of Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli (Bologna, Italy) since 24/07/1997.
From 2008 he is coordinator of the “Sports Traumatology Excellence Centre” of Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli (Bologna, Italy).
From 1/05/2016 to 31/05/2017 he was Head of Orthopaedics of Department Rizzoli Sicilia – Bagheria.
From 2017 March 15th he is Head of II Clinic – Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (Bologna, Italy).

STUDYING PERIODS IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES
He was ESSKA AOSSM travelling fellow from 1 to 26 of June 1997 in the U.S.A, visiting Sports Medicine medical centres of New York, London Ontario, Richmond, Memphis, Atlanta, Cincinnati, San Francisco. He performed a 6 months Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Research at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), under the direction of Professor F. Fu and Professor S. Woo.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
From 1991 to 2018 he pubblished 279 articles on international journals (263 with impact factor).
From 1988 to 2018 he pubblished 88 articles on Italian national journals.
He took part as speaker in 300 International Meetings and 286 Italian National Meetings.
From 1988 to 2018 he published 341 international abstracts and 144 Italian national abstracts.
He was editor of 14 books, associate author of 66 book’s chapters, 6 monograph’s chapters and 8 videos. He works as researcher in Biomechanics Laboratory of Codivilla-Putti Reserch Institute (Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli – Bologna, Italy). He take and took part in a lot of research project promoted by Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli (Bologna, Italy), Italian Health Ministry and European Community.
UNIVERSITARY ACTIVITY
He performed integrative lessons during the teaching course titled “Medical aspects of Exercise and Sport Sciences”, headed by Professor Marcacci, SISS – Faculty
of Exercise and Sport Sciences – University of Bologna, in the years 2004/2005 and 2005/2006. He performed integrative lessons during the teaching course titled “ Diseases of Locomotor Apparatus”, headed by Professor Marcacci, Faculty of Exercise and Sport Sciences – University of Bologna, in the years 2004/2005
and 2005/2006. He performed 10 hours of lesson during the teaching course titled “Orthopedics and Traumatology” in the School of Specialization in Sports Medicine at the University of Bologna as substitute of Professor Marcacci in the years 2004 and 2005. He hold the course titled “Pre- and Post-operative kinematics evaluation in surgery after sports injuries” as Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the School of Specialization in Sports Medicine – Faculty of Medicine – University of Bologna from the year 2005/2006 . He hold the course titled “Locomotor’s Apparatus Pathology” as Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Faculty of Exercise and Sport Sciences – University of Bologna from the year 2006/2007. He hold the course of “Arthroscopic techniques in Orthopaedics” as Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the School of Specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology – Faculty of Medicine – University of Messina during the years 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009.
From 23/12/2008 he is Researcher in “Diseases of Locomotor Apparatus” at Faculty of Medicine – University of Bologna. From 03/09/2012 he was Associate Professor in “Orthopaedics and Traumatology” at Faculty of Medicine. From 01/04/2016 he is Full Professor in “Orthopaedics and Traumatology” at Faculty of Medicine.
